The Silver team is comprised of players who are rising 8th graders and rising freshman. In addition to continuing individual skills development, field awareness, and game knowledge, Silver team participation introduces the elements important to the recruiting process.
Although college coaches focus recruitment efforts primarily on Gold team participants, they will selectively evaluate Silver-level teams and players on a case-by-case basis. Silver team players are expected to demonstrate strong individual skills and the ability to apply knowledge and capabilities effectively in competitive situations.
Players continue to make the maximum commitment to their development and are expected to attend all practices and tournaments as they begin to understand and appreciate their roles and responsibilities related to college recruitment activities.
Team officials announced today that Craig Lepiane, the Silver team's Head Coach, has been notified of his appointment to the coaching staff of Team Florida. The three-time All-American midfielder from Ithaca College, and assistant coach of Freedom High School's Varsity lacrosse program, will serve as the assistant coach to Bill Shatz, who is the Head Coach of Team Florida U-15.
Last year's Team Florida U-15 squad walked away with the tournament championships at the Chocolatetown Shootout in Hershey, PA and the Charlotte Fall Classic in Charlotte NC beating New York and Maryland powerhouses enroute to the respective championships at each high-profile event.
