Select Teams Hit the Ground Running

Plant, Freedom, and Wharton High Schools to benefit from initiative
Both the New Tampa and South Tampa Select Teams started their seasons with wins in the Shooter's Summer League. Playing in the High School Division, each team matched up against strong opponents and showed their strength by dominating the transition game and capitalizing on the opportunities with scoring bursts that led to favorable game outcomes.
The New Tampa team, comprised of players from the Freedom and Wharton High Schools, is coached by Bob Dance, the Head coach of the undefeated 2009 New Tampa Gold middle school squad that dominated the WFLL this past season. The South Tampa Select squad is coached by Sean Magin, who played collegiately at SUNY Cortland, and is made up of players from Plant High School.
